I have heard many people state that it doesn’t matter about the camera, it’s the photographer who makes the picture.
- Composition of the image is generally the work and imagination of the photographer.
- The technical quality of the image is taken care of by the camera, sensor and lens.
So the equipment does matter.
What’s the point of spending time and effort into a shot, and not striving for the best technical quality. Also, for certain subjects such as sport and wildlife, good quality long lenses and fast accurate focussing will help you to produce that winning shot.
But, all of the best gear in the world will not produce a good photographer, just very good technical snaps.
A combination of skill experience and the best equipment for the job, is what will generally produce the finest image.
That said, the best camera for the job is the one you have with you.
